We are Jan And Steve Smith which is
how we got our kennel name of JAS
Havanese. We live in South Texas
and welcome your
emails.
We are proud members of the
Havanese Club of America (HCA)
While the Havanese we own are considered show dogs, they are first and foremost loved pets.
Each has a unique personality, just as our children do. Health testing rates very highly with us
and is a must. Anything can happen when you have puppies, but with health tested parents,
you minimize your risks. Each new little life that's brought into this world deserves the best
chance we can give them.
Our dogs have full run of the house and don't live in pens. If you visit, expect at least one dog
to be in your lap and cover your heart because they'll steal it. We will only breed Havanese
that exemplify the breed standard. We are dedicated to the betterment of Havanese breed.
Jan is a contributing editor for Havanese Hotline, and also writes a column about dog training
for each issue. She also serves on the HCA Public Relations committee.

Jan is an artist and designed the logo for the Red River Havanese club.
Jan also designed the
logo for the Havanese Specialty, 2007 which was held in Denver, Colorado in August, 2007.
Steve found that he enjoys showing our dogs in the ring and has done very well at it.In his
spare time, he works for the government as an IT Specialist/Systems Administrator. <G>
Jan raised money in 2006 for HEART, and in 2007 she raised money for Havanese Rescue
through her artwork and donations as she did with HEART.

Havanese, also
known as Havana
Silk Dog and Spanish
Silk Poodle through
history. We don't
breed designer dogs
nor do we recognize
the HSDAA.
We breed for straight
legs, a healthy
puppy, good
conformation, and
great temperaments
that allow a puppy to
easily blend into your
household.
